Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about accessibility scanning, the EAA, and how Inclusivy works.
General
-
Inclusivy is a web accessibility scanning tool that checks your website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We provide detailed reports showing accessibility issues and how to fix them.
-
Web accessibility means making websites usable by people with disabilities. This includes people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or have visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive impairments.
-
The EAA is EU legislation that requires websites and digital services to be accessible to people with disabilities. It became enforceable on June 28, 2025, and applies to most businesses selling products or services in the EU.
-
WCAG stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. It's the international standard for web accessibility, developed by the W3C. The EAA requires compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Scanning
-
After you enter your URL and pay, our scanner analyzes your webpage against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria. We check for issues like missing alt text, color contrast problems, keyboard navigation issues, and more.
-
Currently, each scan analyzes the single URL you provide. This is typically your homepage, but you can scan any publicly accessible page. For multiple pages, you can purchase additional scans.
-
Most scans complete within 1-2 minutes. You'll receive an email notification as soon as your report is ready.
-
Unlimited times for 1 year! Once you've paid for a URL, you can rescan it as many times as you want during that year at no extra cost. This helps you track progress as you fix issues.
-
Currently, we can only scan publicly accessible pages. Pages behind login forms cannot be scanned. We recommend scanning your public-facing pages first.
Pricing
-
€79 per URL. This is a one-time payment, not a subscription. You get 1 year of unlimited rescans of the same URL included.
-
No. €79 is the total cost. There are no setup fees, no monthly charges, and no surprise costs.
-
Due to the instant nature of our digital service, we generally cannot offer refunds once a scan has been completed. However, if you experience technical issues preventing you from receiving your report, contact us and we'll make it right.
-
Each domain requires a separate scan. If you have multiple websites, contact us for bulk pricing on 10+ domains.
-
We accept credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, and other popular payment methods through Lemon Squeezy.
Compliance
-
Our scan helps you identify and fix many accessibility issues, which is a crucial step toward compliance. However, automated testing cannot catch everything. We recommend also conducting manual testing and consulting with accessibility experts for full compliance.
-
Automated scanning catches many common issues but cannot detect all accessibility problems. For comprehensive compliance, we recommend using our scan as a starting point, then considering manual testing for critical user flows.
-
The EAA requires websites to have an accessibility statement. This is a page describing your accessibility features and how users can get help. We recommend adding one to your website after addressing the issues in your report.
Technical
-
We check against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria, including color contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text, form labels, heading structure, and many more. Our report maps each issue to the specific WCAG criterion it violates.
-
Automated testing can catch approximately 30-40% of accessibility issues. It's excellent for finding technical issues like missing alt text, color contrast, and HTML errors. Some issues (like whether alt text is meaningful) require human judgment.
-
Yes! You can export your report as a professional PDF for stakeholders and management, or as an Excel spreadsheet with a functional action item checklist for your development team. The Excel export includes status tracking, priority sorting, and progress formulas.
Support
-
Contact us at support@inclusivy.com. We typically respond within 24 hours.
-
We focus on providing scanning tools, not consulting services. However, we can recommend accessibility consultants if you need hands-on help.
-
We provide the report and fix instructions, but implementation is up to you or your developer. The fixes require changes to your website's code.
